The programmer and thermostat are located on the rear wall of the living room.
The programmer is set on Auto for the hot water and heating (if required) to come on twice a day. If you need to boost the heating or hot water at other times, you can press the EXTRA HOUR button on the programmer for either function. One press provides 1 hour, further presses will extend the period that the hot water or heating is on for up to 3 hours.
The programmer will illuminate as soon as you press a button. Controls for the Central Heating are on the left of the programmer. Controls for the Hot Water are on the right of the programmer. The settings are: Continuous (on 24 hours per day), Once (will operate once per day), Auto (will switch on and off automatically), and Off.
The Barn is not connected to mains drainage. Anything that is put down the sinks or drains, or flushed down the toilet goes into a large tank directly adjacent to The Barn. Septic tanks rely on a biological process to break down waste. They work very efficiently but are sensitive to incorrect use which can result inan unpleasant smell and non-organic matter needing to be removed. Please do not place anything other than toilet paper and human waste in the toilet. Use only Ecover cleaning products or other septic tank-friendly products. Please do not use bleach, biological laundry or cleaning products. Items such as wet wipes, cotton buds, sanitary products etc. should be placed in the refuse. Even items such as ‘flushable wipes’ are incompatible with a septic tank.

Lids and caps go in the Blue Bag.
The Black Crate is located at the front of The Barn next to the dustbins.
Items that don’t fit in any other category should be placed in the black bag to go to landfill.
